3rd Annual Short Hills House Tour to Benefit Autism Awareness

House Tour: 10/3 12noon-3pm

The 3rd Annual Short Hills House Tour to Benefit Autism Awareness will take place on October 3rd, 2015 from noon to 3 pm, with a preview party on October 2nd, 2015 between 7 - 9 pm. Tickets are available for $25.00, and may be purchased via Eventbrite.  All proceeds directly benefit autism awareness locally.

Autism affects 1 in 45 children in New Jersey. 

With those astonishing numbers, Sales Associate & Blogger, Melanie Rosenbaum of RealShortHills along with Keller Williams Premier Properties have put together a fundraising real estate market tour experience in which participants will be given the opportunity to view local available Keller Williams Premier Properties Real Estate in Millburn and Short Hills, with properties usually ranging $1M - $5M. These homes will be opened to those attending with food, light bites, and treats provided by Guaranteed Rate.

A Short Hills House Tour Preview Party will be held on Friday 

October 2nd, from 7pm-9pm in which participants will have the chance to spend time in one of the tour homes. This year’s home is available modern new construction by upscale local architects, Simonian Rosenbaum Architects. They have been completing projects in Short Hills since the 1990s, with this project being described as “a Falling Water moment” (Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous house) by another local Short Hills architectural and real estate admirer.  Also to be enjoyed over the course of the evening, will be lovely flowers by KP Designs, artwork by Contemporary Art and Edition, along with music by Sunhill.  Event details are beautifully curated by Emily Whitman.

On Saturday, October 3rd, between 12 - 3 pm, participants are welcome to attend the 3rd Annual Short Hills House Tour to Benefit Autism Awareness. All proceeds go towards funding Autism NJ’s Classroom Kits for our local schools. Kits will be provided to teachers within our public school system to foster acceptance and build understanding within the classroom. The kits include literature about autism, decorations, informational posters, giveaways for the children, professional development opportunities, and classroom lesson plans to spread autism awareness and celebrate next year’s Autism Awareness month in April.

Keller Williams Realty Short Hills House Tour Benefiting Autism New Jersey

Yesterday was the 1st Annual Keller Williams Realty Short Hills House Tour Benefiting Autism New Jersey.  The event was a huge success and raised a lot of money to be used to develop Classroom Packs to support teachers in spreading autism awareness and building acceptance of others.  

I felt proud to have been able to contribute to my community in such a unique way, by providing an opportunity for people to see the housing market inventory and have a delightful day out with friends all while helping to provide a means to give teachers tools for extra character education in our schools.  

Everyone involved seemed to enjoy themselves, and some people were even out house hunting.  It seemed to be a "Win - Win", said Cara Moxley, one of the Brokers of Record at Keller Williams Realty.  The tour consisted of six fabulous homes in Short Hills, NJ ranging from approximately $1.5M to $5M.  The concept was well received, and I will definitely do this type of House Tour again in the Fall or in April in honor of  Autism Awareness month.  I am also considering planning this type event in other neighboring towns.
